Best Money Books to Reshape Your Financial Life in 2017

Grab these best money books to save and make thousands more this year to reshape your finances in 2017

There are almost 1.8 million books on business and money listed on Amazon…but only 163,000 of these money books has a rating of four stars or higher.

Most books about personal finances, making money and investing have all the credibility of a 3am infomercial but that doesn’t mean you can’t find books that will help you reach your financial goals. It also doesn’t mean you have to waste your time reading the stacks of unintelligible and poorly-written.

I’ve put together a list of my favorite money books for 2017, ones that I’ve read or plan to read this year. Many of the books in the list are by people I know personally from an annual financial bloggers’ conference and some of the best minds in personal finance.

All the books are available on Amazon with links to the page to read the full description. Most are available for just a few bucks on Kindle and all offer some great tips and tricks to make 2017 the year you reshape your financial life.

Sometimes saving money isn’t the answer. How does someone making $50,000 a year and supporting a family save money? They don’t and they never have the opportunity to reach their life goals. If you are ever going to find financial freedom, it’s going to start by making more money and learning how to use it.

The Passive Income Myth: How to Create a Stream of Income from Real Estate, Blogging, Stocks and Bonds by Joseph Hogue, CFA

If you are one of the 70% of Americans that say they hate their job then my story is one that might sound familiar. Straight out of the military and graduating college, I got a job I hated and could do nothing but dream about early retirement every day. I got pulled in to all kinds of ‘passive income’ businesses and learned the hard way that most are more work than a 9-to-5 job.

But there is some truth to the myth and you can make a ton of money in these businesses and I show you exactly how to get started. This isn’t some general overview book but a detailed guide into each income stream including how to get started, how passive you can make it and how to avoid the pitfalls.

You’ll also see the exact process one blogger uses to make between $30,000 and $70,000 a month with online courses.

The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss

I was initially turned off on this book by the title. I hate all the false promises online about making millions and living the easy life as an entrepreneur. I’m sorry folks but success and entrepreneurship are hard work! It will take much more than a 4-hour workweek…try a 40-hour workweek, times two.

But I like Tim’s blog so I decided to read the book and see what everyone was talking about. It definitely lived up to the hype and I was surprised at the level of detail. The best part are the case studies drawn from the blog and podcast. The book covers all the common hurdles and lays out a blueprint for getting started.

This book is about finding those best opportunities in dividend stocks and how to avoid the biggest traps in investing.

Not only will you find exactly how to reduce your risk and get great cash flow in dividend stocks, I’ve also included two chapters on other income investments. You’ll learn how to get special tax breaks in real estate investments and energy stocks that beat even other dividend stocks.
